The kitchen is probably the busiest place in most homes. Meals are prepared and served here, and much thought and planning needs to be put into the organization of several work areas in the kitchen.

It is recommended that a close triangle between the stove, refrigerator and sink be formed, so you aren't having to walk long distances between each of them. That becomes more important the older you get or if you have a physical handicap.

Around each appliance you should have a work station atmosphere. Drawers that hold pot holders, pots and pans, & lids should be near the stove.

Glasses near the sink, and dishes in a convenient space near the table are recommended. Cupboards with cooking staples, and pantry need to be figured into the planning of this critical area of the house.
